The extraction of cores is an integral part of any comprehensive structural quality check. The extracted cores give a lot of information about the structures. The technical information on the in-place concrete that can be obtained from the cores would be:
· Compressive Strength
The core test is used to establish the actual compressive strength of concrete in the structural members. Core samples were taken from various locations as shown in report and assessed as described in IS 516 to determine in-situ compressive strength of concrete at respective location. Extracted core samples were subjected to end preparation and capping of cores was done with high strength cement-based material. Cores were tested for compressive strength as detailed in I.S 456, 2000 and I.S -516.
